This document lists the steps to enroll into the Apple and Google developer programs as an organization. Screenshots have been provided as examples.
A note on security – please make sure to use a strong password stored safely for the account that you use to enroll on these developer programs as they will have access to control the apps and information visible to your customers on the App Store and Play Store.
A fee will be required to be paid during the enrollment process to Apple and Google. In the case of Apple, this is a yearly fee of 99 USD (possible discounts for education, non-profit or government organizations). Google requires a one-time fee of 25 USD.
Required Information
To help with gathering the information needed for enrollment, the following is a list of information that may be required during the enrolment process.
- An Apple ID and a Google Account
- These can either be personal accounts or business accounts and can be changed at a later date. If you wish to create a new account specifically for this enrollment purpose (which we recommend) please see the sections (Optional) Apple ID Creation and (Optional) Google Account Creation
- Personal details:
- Name
- Address
- Phone Number
- Work Contact Email
- Company details:
- Legal entity name
- D-U-N-S Number
- Headquarters Address
- Company Phone Number
- Website address (domain)
- (If required) Details for a reference who can confirm you have legal authority to enroll the organization and bind to legal agreements.
- Store display name
- During Google Play enrollment, you are asked for the “Developer Name” and the “Organization Name”. The developer name is visible to visitors on the Play Store but the organization name is not and must be the full legal name of the organization. For example, you may want to display your Developer Name as “ACME Apps” on the Play Store but your organization’s full legal name could be “ACME TECH UK LIMITED”.

Apple Developer Enrollment
Note from Apple:
You’ll be asked for the D‑U‑N‑S Number associated with your legal entity and, if you are not the owner/founder, you must provide a reference who can confirm that you are an employee with the legal authority to enroll the organization and to bind it to legal agreements.
If enrolling as an organization, you may be asked for business documents that are notarized to certify that the copy you intend to provide to Apple is a true copy of your original document. Depending on your region, notarization may be done by a municipal office, solicitor, notary public, or other method.
- Go to Apple Developer Enrollment – https://developer.apple.com/programs/enroll/
- Login with Apple ID (or create one, see “Steps for Apple ID” below) – You can use an existing personal Apple ID and this can be changed at a later time. However it may be recommended to make a separate Apple ID specifically for your business or this process for security and account separation purposes.
- Confirm / Fill in personal details associated with the Apple ID being used
- Select Company / Organization for the account type
- Fill in the D-U-N-S number and the company legal name
- Fill in company information that hasn’t been pre populated and sign agreements and that you have legal power to enter into the agreement, or that the registration must be approved by the company.
After this has been submitted, Apple may need to carry out a review on the application and contact any references to prove legal authority and authenticity of the request.
Google Play Store Developer Enrollment
- Go to enrollment website: https://play.google.com/console/u/0/signup/playSignup
- Sign in, or sign up for a Google Account – You can use an existing personal or business Google Account and this can be changed at a later time. However it may be recommended to make a separate Google Account specifically for your business or this process for security and account separation purposes.
- Select the type – “An organization or business”
- Fill in the requested information
- Pay the required fee
